Alex Scholpp

Stuttgart guitarist Alex Scholpp has been one of Germany’s most active rock and metal musicians for over 30 years.

His talents as a songwriter, live and studio musician are appreciated both nationally and internationally.

In addition to his work with ex-Nightwish singer Tarja Turunen’s solo project, Alex is probably best known as the lead guitarist of the metal band Farmer Boys.

He also composes and plays for the bands Tieflader and Sinner. Whenever his busy schedule allows, he also works as a guitar teacher at his music school ‘Alex Scholpp’s Guitar Camp’ in Stuttgart.

Alex discovered his passion for heavy riffs at quite an early age. As a 10-year-old, he proudly owned albums by his favourite bands Scorpions, Iron Maiden and Metallica on music cassettes.

This was soon followed by his first trips to concerts, accompanied by his parents at the time, who recognised and encouraged his enthusiasm for music at an early age.

With this much care and devotion, it was no surprise that this child decided to be a professional heavy metal musician.

However, Alex still had to practise his first riffs, such as the metal classic ‘seek and destroy’, on a western guitar.

It was only after working as a paperboy, delivering the daily news to the streets of Stuttgart, that he was able to afford his very own electric guitar.

Since then, Alex has been an integral part of the metal scene. In the mid-90s, he was a founding member of the Farmer Boys, with whom he released several albums and made a significant contribution to the band’s sound and success with his precise and powerful guitar playing.

In 2003, he founded the music school ‘Alex Scholpp’s Guitar-Camp’ in Stuttgart to pass on his passion and enthusiasm for guitar playing to his students.

After working as a session guitarist for bands such as Die Fantastischen Vier, Alex Schlopp has been collaborating with Tarja Turunen since 2007.

From the start of her solo project, he has been involved as songwriter and guitarist in all of the singer’s releases and worldwide tours.

In order to keep his precise and powerful sound authentic live and in the studio, the choice of the right equipment is crucial for Alex.

His mighty riffs have to be conveyed clearly and powerfully to the listener at all times.

That’s why Alex relies on KLOTZ AIS for the cabling of his guitar and pedal board.

The TITANIUM supreme guitar cable, with its unique, patented cable construction and perfectly optimised capacitance of just 75 pF/m, ensures fast response and extreme dynamics with outstanding detail fidelity.

Exactly what Alex expects from a guitar cable.

Klotz cables have been with me since the beginning of my career and are still a faithful companion to this day. They sound great and I can rely 100% on their high quality. Thank you Klotz!

Welcome to the #KLOTZfamily, Alex Scholpp.
