KLOTZ AIS cable guide

multimode fiber

Optical fiber with core diameter significantly larger than a single-mode fiber (> 50 µm), which can thus transmit multiple modes.

Runtime variations are minimized by the gradient profile. Although multimode fibers can transmit high bandwidths, single-mode fibers are superior in this respect.

Multimode fibers are used for short and medium distances up to a maximum of 500 m.
